1. Led by the Spirit of our God,
we go to fast and pray
With Christ into the wil-der-ness;
we join His paschal way.
"Rend not your garments, rend your hearts.
Turn back your lives to me."
Thus says our kind and gracious God,
whose reign is liberty.
2. Led by the Spirit, we confront
temptation face to face,
And know full well we must re-ly
on God's redeeming grace.
On bread alone we can-not live,
but nourished by the Word.
We seek the will of God to do:
this is our drink and food.
3. Led by the Spirit, now draw near
the waters of re - birth
With hearts that long to worship God
in spirit and in truth.
"Who-e-ver drinks the drink I give
shall never thirst a - gain."
Thus says the Lord who died for us,
our Saviour, kin and friend.
4. Led by the Spirit, now sing praise
to God the Trin - i - ty:
The Source of Life, the liv-ing Word
made flesh to set us free,
The Spirit blowing where it will
to make us friends of God:
This myst'ry far beyond our reach,
yet near in healing love.

RESPONSE: (Cantor, then all)
Be with me, O Lord in my distress.
All: Be with me, O Lord in my distress.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
and abides in the shade of the Almighty,
says to the Lord, 'My refuge,
my stronghold, my God in whom I trust!'.
Be with me, O Lord in my distress.
upon you no evil shall fall,
no plague approach your tent.
For you has he commanded his angels
to keep you in all your ways.
Be with me, O Lord in my distress.
They shall bear you upon their hands,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
On the lion and the viper you will tread,
and trample the young lion and the serpent.
Be with me, O Lord in my distress
Since he clings to me in love, I will free him,
protect him, for he knows my name.
When he calls on me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in distress;
I will Deliver him, and give him glory.
Be with me, O Lord in my distress

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your kingdom.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators
of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform all of humanity
and the whole of creation in the sure
expectation of a new heaven
and a new earth,
when your glory, O Lord, will shine eternally.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy
and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever. Amen
1. Gifts of bread and wine, gifts we’ve of - fered,
fruits of labour, fruits of love:
taken, offered, sanctified,
blessed and broken; words of One who died:
R:/
‘Take my body, take my saving blood.’
Gifts of bread and wine: Christ our Lord.
2. Christ our Saviour, living presence here,
as He promised while on earth:
’I am with you for all time,
I am with you in this Bread and Wine.' (to refrain)
‘Take my body, take my saving blood.’
Gifts of bread and wine: Christ our Lord.
3. Through the Father, with the Spirit,
one in union with the Son,
for God’s people, joined in prayer,
faith is strengthened by the food we share.

Spoken
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present
in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.
I love You above all things
and I passionately desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come spiritually into my soul
so that I may unite myself wholly to You
now and forever.
Amen.
Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit
One does not live by bread alone
but by every word that comes forth
from the mouth of God.
Refrain:
Bread of life, truth eternal,
Broken now to set us free.
The risen Christ, his saving power,
Is here in Bread and Wine for me.
Verses:
Lord, I know I am not worthy to receive you.
You speak the words and I am healed.
Here at your table, Loves mystery:
One bread, one cup, one family.
Bread of life, truth eternal,
Broken now to set us free.
The risen Christ, his saving power,
Is here in Bread and Wine for me.
Lord by your cross, you reconciled us to the Fa - ther.
We have only to believe.
Your sacrifice, our victory,
Now by your blood we are redeemed.
Bread of life, truth eternal,
Broken now to set us free.
The risen Christ, his saving power,
Is here in Bread and Wine for me.
Lord, you gave your people manna in the des - ert,
Still you fulfil our every need.
Lord when we hunger, Lord, when we thirst,
We come to you and we receive .the
Bread of life, truth eternal,
Broken now to set us free.
The risen Christ, his saving power,
Is here in Bread and Wine for me.

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord:"My refuge,
My rock in whom I trust!"
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His hand.
The Snare of the Flower will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under his wings your reguge,
His faithfulness your shield
You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by the day;
Through thousands fal about you,
Near you it shall not come
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His hand.
For to his angels he’s given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways;
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone
