Ranks
Pledge
This is technically the very first rank. It indicates someone who has shown interest in the organization, met with the leadership and received their first task. Recruits do not have access to the base and are not officially part of Doom…yet.
Spectre
Entrance rank. Spectres will receive the keys to the base and a tour. This is the rank for feeling out your place within the organization before moving on to one of the next two subgroups.
Reaper
This is the arcane intelligence branch of the organization. Reapers are primarily responsible for gathering intel, finding suitable targets, and discovering potential recruits to recommend to leadership.
Executioner
This is the enforcement branch of the organization. Executioners are often the ones carrying out strikes against targets, or defending Doom against incoming attacks. If you are interested in engaging in regular combat, this is the section for that.
Harbinger
These are the direct advisors to Doom’s leadership. Appointed as needed.
Acolyte
Junior leadership. This role is for those who are training to lead Doom someday and work closely with the faction leads to create content for the organization.
Imperator (Lead Position)
Faction leader with a focus on the combat side of things. Works closely with the Prophet to guide the organization.
Prophet (Lead Position)
Faction leader with a focus on organization and roleplay. This is the person who ultimately guides the direction of Doom, with assistance from the Faction Admin.
Doom World Lore
Supernatural creatures are no secret, the world-over knowing of their existence and most certainly knowing they live amongst non-magical beings within Howling Hills. However, there are individuals that do not care if someone is a gentle school teacher or ravenous murderer.
Cleansing the world by fire will solve all problems in these individual's minds. If all die, corruption can't exist...right?
The group housing those end-of-world, clean-slate goals is known as Doom, and while they don't often discriminate against what life they take, some within these ranks have a particular hatred against Supernatural's for one reason or another, delivering far more than just a swift and painless end.
In 2025, Doom became internationally known when they infiltrated the World Council in an attempt to manipulate the Council into using Omega Red for nefarious means. Had it not been for the brave acts of the RDA and a Mysterious Hacker Organization, their plot would have succeeded. After this, the rumors spread through the world about the Doom organization & their goals to brings Destruction to the World. One important question lingers in the air. Why does Doom do what they do?
City Lore for Doom
In 1990, Doom mysterious appeared overnight in Howling Hills. Its presence was subtle in the shadows at first, making people uncertain where it came from or how it began. As time passed, rumors suggested that its origins began within Howling Hills itself. Though no evidence is founded behind it beyond historical events centered around the City.
In 2024, Doom's presence in Howling Hills became publicly confirmed when they attacked a pool party celebration that took place in the City. The assumed Doom Cult attempted to use what looked like a strange device to siphon the magic out of the citizens. It was said to be a suicide mission to take out as many as possible to prevent Aberration Corruption. After this, the streets became more warry of Doom's presence and it became a local warning not to wander the streets at night. Lest you become the next Victim of Doom. Later in the year, Doom made its presence known again by causing a mist to overshadow the City of Howling Hills. Causing Mass Hallucinations and Hysteria. Though the media was never able to confirm them being the cause.
Doom Relocates Within Howling Hills
In 2025, everything changed. The Doom Leaders Annihilation & Anguish finally uncovered what they were looking for. The home of their Architect. The home was known as the Bastion of Last Light. Connected to Howling Hills by the Fractured Veil Engine.
Fractured Veil Engine & Bastion of Last Light
The Fractured Veil Engine exists as an Anchor within the Bastion of Last Light that sits on the edge of the Nexus plane. This anchored, binds the very edge of the plane within the veil of Howling Hills in the same way the Obsidian Towers & Elysian Fields anchors bind their fragmented planes to the City. While the Bastion is protected within the Veil, those who wander beyond it will find the Nexus outside its safety and swarming with Aberration and Monsters.
The Engine is hidden somewhere in the Bastion, the history of its creation unknown. For now, Doom has managed to secure a base of within the Great Halls (Doom Build) of the Bastion of Last Light. Beyond the Great Halls is the Room of Many Doors that stands between Doom and the rest of the Bastion. No one knows what's beyond the doors, but Doom is sure to find out. One way or another.
Room of Many Doors
This room is a connection portal between the Great Halls and the Bastion of Last Light. This room was created as a security measure to keep outsiders from entering further into the Bastion. Those that enter find themselves tossed into random rooms. Navigating the Many Doors is akin to attempting to Navigate an ever changing Labyrinth. You never know what you'll find behind each door if you aren't careful, might not find your way out.
