OOC

• The Mayor works alongside DMs, Historians, Sim & Player Organization Leaders, Hospitals, & RDA to create and support citywide stories, events, and plotlines involving the city and its factions. 

• They oversee City Council and manage the Politics and welfare of Howling Hills.

• They can Fire & Hire individuals for Business Elect & Citizen Elect during their Mayoral Term on City Council, but Firing must be voted on by the City Council.

• Request News Updates from DMs to be sent out.

IC

• They can Issue New City Laws (with Staff Approval).

• Temporary Policies & Policies (2 weeks)

  1. Example: Issuing a State of Emergency after a Doom Attack, etc.

• Hold Conferences to address City Incidents, Citizens, and News.

• Can issue Special Permits under the Law that are valid for their Term.

Mayoral Position Requirements

• Running a City Council Closed meeting once a month.

• Run 2 Sim-Wide Events During Term

• Interacting with players on an On Sim IC Basis at least once a week.

• Be available for Mayoral roleplay and to reply to OOC Communication from players.

• Delegate tasks to create roleplay opportunities for others.

How long will a Mayors Term be? 

• The Duration of the Mayoral Candidate Term is 4 Months. Should a Mayor wish to step down before the end of their term, the option for the runner up to step up as Acting Mayor is available.

• If a Mayor becomes inactive during their term (more than 3 weeks) without communication, the Event Admin will do an activity Check. Failure to meet the activity check may result in removal from Office.

What is a Business Elect?

A Business Owner that represents the voices of other local Businesses! If a local business needs help or wants to make change, the Business Elects are their foot in the door!

Business Elects MUST be a Licensed Business Owner

Business Elect IC Position Requirements

• Seek out and Invite new Business Owners to the Business Collective 

  1. Request the Business Collective role for them via the #business-org-tags channel in Discord. 

  2. Introduce them to the chat by @Tagging the player in the Business Collective IC group text thread. )

• Moderate the Business Collective chat to keep things professional.

What is a Citizen Elect?

A Citizen of the City that represents the voices of the People. If change needs to happen, someone wants to host a City Wide Event, or a Citizen has a topic they want to address. They can reach out to the Citizen Elect to make their voice heard!

Citizen Elects MUST be a City Documented Citizen

Citizen Elect IC Position Requirements

• Plan and Host 1 Public Town Hall meeting per month between the two Citizen Elects. (Submit an Event ticket form)

• Run Surveys and Polls for Citizens as applicable to help give them a voice.

OOC

• Advocate on Behalf of the Citizens

• Assist the Mayor in Overseeing the City

• They work with the Organization & Player Group Leaders to coordinate Events & Plotlines involving the City.

• Request News Updates & Listings from Event Admin to be sent out.

IC

• Vote in New Laws & Changing Old Laws 

• Hold Meetings to Address City Incidents, Citizen Needs, and Event Plans.

• Host Events on Behalf of the City Council

• Hire City Hall Employees & Document Them in #City-Employee-Documents

• Process Citizen Licenses & Document Them in #City-Hall-Documents
