What does the Mayor Do?
OOC
The Mayor works alongside DMs & Historians to create & support Stories.
They oversee the City Council to see to the Politics and welfare of Howling Hills.
They can Fire & Hire individuals for Business Elect & Citizen Elect during their Mayoral Term on City Council.
They work with the Faction Leaders to organize Events & Plotlines involving the City & Factions.

They can Issue New City Laws (with Staff Approval).
Temporary Policies (2 weeks)
Example: Issuing a State of Emergency after a Doom Attack, etc.
Hold Conferences to address City Incidents, Citizens, and News.
Can issue Special Permits under the Law that are valid for their Term.
Mayoral Position Requirements
Running a Townhall meeting once a month.
Interacting with players on an On Sim IC Basis at least once a week.
Being available to address topics in the OOC & IC abilities that a Mayor Has.
How long will a Mayors Term be?
The Duration of the Mayoral Candidate Term is 4 Months. Should a Mayor wish to step down before the end of their term, the option for the runner up to step up as Acting Mayor is available.
What is a Business Elect?
A Business Owner that represents the voices of other local Businesses! If a local business needs help or wants to make change, the Business Elects are their foot in the door!
What is a Citizen Elect?
A Citizen of the City that represents the voices of the People. If change needs to happen, someone wants to host a City Wide Event, or a Citizen has a topic they want to address. They can reach out to the Citizen Elect to make their voice heard!

How long will Council Term Last?
The Duration of the Council consists for however long someone remains within that role. Unless it is Business & Citizen Elect. Those roles are voted in during the Mayoral Elections. The Mayor Reserves the right to remove Business & Citizen Elect should they feel they violate City Law or their Oath ot the City.

Changing the Laws
Interested in rewriting, changing, adding, or removing laws? Then look no further than City Council! Business Elect & Citizen Elect are the representatives that Citizens seek out to sponsor their ideas for new laws. Once a City Council member represents a Citizen, that Citizen can attend a Council meeting and pitch their idea for a change in law!
Once this is done, the Mayor will submit a #Lore Inquiries Ticket in the discord. to see if the law is possible through roleplay. Once Staff give the greenlight, they'll host a vote among City Council to pass the changes! Once the YAY or NAY is decided on, the Mayor will let staff know so the website can be updated! We will be sure to document changes by date and mayoral reign. Crossing out old laws so everything stays documented historically! These updates will go out during the Sunday Update Releases.
How Does a Mayor do the Voting?
A meeting is hosted after Staff approval in the Ticket and the topic is brought up. City Council will vote in a poll in the City Council chat that's set to 3 days. This gives every member a chance to vote on the topic whether they attended the event or voted digitally. Once the three days pass, the result will be the decision if its Yay or Nay! If you need help as the Mayor doing a poll, contact the Event Admin for Assistance! Special note, the RDA Representatives on Council only get 2 votes, same as the Hospital and Fire Dept. Even though they have 3 ranks.
