Letter about a place
Hi there,
I have some exciting news to share with you! I recently entered a writing competition called ‘My Favourite Place’ and guess what? I won first prize! I thought you'd love to hear all about it.
The piece I wrote was about this serene little village in the mountains of Cyprus. It's almost like time has paused there. The village is surrounded by lush, green forests, with quaint stone houses that seem to whisper old stories. There's a small, crystal-clear river running through it, where you can see the pebbles at the bottom, and the air is always fresh with the scent of pine and wild herbs.
What makes this place so special to me is the tranquility it offers. It's a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The silence is profound, interrupted only by the occasional bird call or the gentle rustling of leaves. It's my personal retreat where I can reconnect with nature, think clearly, and find peace. Every time I visit, I feel like I'm shedding layers of stress, just leaving them behind with the city.
Being there, I feel this overwhelming sense of calm and liberation. It's like the place has its own way of healing. I walk along the riverbank, sometimes with no particular destination, just enjoying the moment. The feeling of freedom and connection with something larger than myself is indescribable. It rejuvenates my spirit and makes me appreciate the simple, yet profound beauty of life.
Winning this competition with my story about this village was not just an accolade for my writing; it felt like an affirmation of my love for this magical place. I'm so glad I could share this with you. Maybe one day, we can visit together!
Best wishes,
Paul
