Global Arts PTA Meeting Minutes

The mission of the Global Arts Plus PTA is to foster and engage the diverse and creative Global Arts Plus community in order to fulfill the school’s mission of infusing arts into the curriculum. This can be accomplished through funding arts programming and sponsoring community building opportunities.

School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) Update - Ms. Beck and Ms. Bourgoyne
Ms. Leslie would like to help in grade 8 or other grades levels where spanish speaking students need support.
PTA spending priorities for 2024 - 2025
This school year, the Global Arts Plus PTA (Parent Teacher Association) prioritized using money donated to the PTA and from PTA fundraisers for the following:
Supplementing Lower Campus and Upper Campus funding for artists in residence ($10,000)
Teacher and staff reimbursements (each educator can be reimbursed up to $100 for school related purchases)
Donation to Health office at each campus ($500 for each campus)
Interpreters and childcare at PTA meetings
Family Dance at the Lower Campus
Middle school dance at the Upper Campus
Carnival
8th grade recognition (determined by the 8th grade staff)
Educator appreciation throughout the year

Meghan Scully - if we have to change the budget we cut from other places other than artist residencies
One parent says her son is afraid to go to school. He doesn’t feel safe.I don’t know if the leadership realizes that she has poor organization. - Lisa - encouraging her to present at the board meeting. She can write to the district ombudsman who is a neutral party who can. She has a letter she would like to read.
