When I was a bit younger I used to make and eat a lot of bread. These days, I don't need it so I don't eat it, but there are a few breads that I have to have every once in a while. Like when I make chili, I have to have corn bread and honey butter close at hand.
Below you'll find some of my favorite quick breads (breads without yeast).
When it's fall harvest time, I often pick up some sugar pumpkins, Butternut squash or any of the other types of squash that can be used for making a traditional pie.
Until recently pie was one of the few things I made with squash. This quick bread is a departure from that.
If you're in a hurry, go ahead and steam the squash, it won't take too long. But, if you want add some additional flavor to this bread, take the time to roast the squash, it adds some nice flavor and a bit more texture.
