This question tests your ability to compare either the similarities/differences between two texts. This question is not testing your ability to analyse the authors' use of language and mostly wants you to focus on explicit information. However, they also expect you to give a brief opinion/inference about each difference/similarity you find.
Make sure you pay attention to if the question wants you to find differences or similarities. If the question asks for differences and you talk about similarities, you will not receive marks! Also make sure you use comparison words such as "similarly" or "in contrast".
You absolutely should not spend a massive amount of time on this question. This question is supposed to be some relatively easy marks for you to pick up. For 8 marks, we'd expect you to write 2-3 comparisons.
Key points to consider:
Check if the question asks for similarities or differences
Focus on explicit details but try to discuss your opinion/inference briefly.
Write it as a 'side-by-side comparison using comparing words like "similarly" or "however" e.g. "Source A the weather is horrible as it states 'storm clouds hovered above' however in source B the weather is pleasant 'sunshine showered the golden sand". Don't cover all of text A and then all of text B afterwards
Aim to write 3-4 comparisons
