The Story Of Nago

The Story Of Nago.mp4

We start this cue with the The Women Of Irontown Theme in combination with the chords from the Ashitaka Theme, as Ashitaka gets attention from the women. As the other men get involved, a little rythmic staccato idea hangs around, and as Ashitaka gives a response to the women, we can hear the Ashitaka Theme over a G#m6 chord, a significant part of the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6). The women chatter around a bit before leaving and we hear one last statement of the The Women Of Irontown Theme.

As the men talk about the women, we hear the chords of the Ashitaka Theme with hints of the The Women Of Irontown Theme. As the conversation shifts to Lady Eboshi, we hear the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6), but the men talk about how much goodness Lady Eboshi brought and the progression resolves with a satisfying plagal cadence (G#6 - B - F#). The conversation starts to move towards darker territory, as the men talk about how Lady Eboshi is not even afraid of gods. The Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) kick in respectively. We get the name "Nago" and find out that he was a gigantic boar god. Over the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6), we now hear the Boar Tribe Theme after a very long time of absence. The men tell about how they tried to industrialize the lands of Nago, and the Irontown Theme plays very agressively with its 5/4 meter. Although, after that, we see a flashback on how the boar tribe completely erased the Irontown people and the Boar Tribe Theme bursts out into the greatest statement of the theme yet.

This, however, lies in the past and now, the men are making fun of it. The Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) play with grief, yet also anticipation of the next flashback. Because suddenly, Lady Eboshi shows up to battle and annihilates every enemy she finds. Respectively, one of the biggest complete statements of the Lady Eboshi Theme in the entire score bursts out in clarinet and trumpets, over the 5/4 meter, that usually can be found in the Irontown Theme. Now, Ashitaka reflects on the cruel method of Lady Eboshi and we get a hint of the Ashitaka B Phrase. We see how the curse affects him and little hints of the Demon Theme play as we see Ashitakas wounded arm. The cue ends with the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) underneath the Demon Theme, as Lady Eboshi is, in fact, responsible for Ashitakas suffering.
