Princess Of The Beasts

Princess Of The Beasts.mp4

We start this cue with a shot of the Irontown and metallic percussion can be heard, signifying the importance of the Irontown later. Next, we can see that the princess has a very good relationship with her tribe and the Wolf Tribe Theme can be heard. We cut to Ashitaka, who says that he is going to leave the Irontown and a low version of the Ashitaka Theme in bassoon can be heard, but suddenly, Ashitaka knows that they are being attacked. Meanwhile, the exact same motif that was used in "Mononoke Revealed" and "The Richest Land In The World" is being used here, but in a more exciting fashion, over the classic 5/4 drum beat, that signifies Irontown and the chords of the Wolf Tribe Theme. The wolfs, along with Mononoke, are moving towards Irontown and the Wolf Tribe Theme can be heard in its full glory. A watchman alarms his fellow members that they are going to be attacked and musical onomatopoeia is being used, with the anvil hits synchronizing to the hammer hits on the metall. The watchmen are shooting at the wolfs and the Irontown Theme can be heard in an aggressive manner, just to be overtaken by a more exciting statement of the Wolf Tribe Theme. Mononoke jumps and a chromatic, aleatoric tone row can be heard. As she fights against the watchers of Irontown, the Princess Mononoke Theme can almost be heard as a full statement. She almost gets hit by an attack and runs on top of a house, while there is another statement of the Irontown Theme, signifying that the Irontown gained the upper hand. Suddenly, Mononoke jumps in front of Ashitaka and the Princess Mononoke Theme can be heard, only to be taken over by a chromatic trumpet line. Mononoke runs away and the citizens of Irontown want to follow her. Meanwhile, an intense phrase of the Irontown Theme can be heard. Ashitaka decides that he also wants to follow Mononoke, and a dramatic modulation from A# minor to D minor occurs.

During all of this, Gonza and the women of Irontown prepair themselves for battle, while a statement of the Irontown Theme plays. The workers suddenly realize that Mononoke is on top of the building and the The Women Of Irontown Theme plays on top of the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6). Finally, Lady Eboshi herself emerges and respectfully, the Lady Eboshi Theme rings out in celesta and tubular bells, with a slight variation in the second part of the theme. Eboshi, along with two women, is approaching Mononoke and we can hear the end of the Lady Eboshi Theme, ending the cue.
