The cue starts and we see the Irontown for the first time. Respectively, the Irontown Theme plays in low brass. It is unique because of its 5/4 rythm. After that we see the reaction of the shocked Ashitaka, an A#5 and an G#5 chord play slowly in strings and woodwind. After that, the music takes on a more comedic tone with the Kohroku Theme, as he yells to Irontown workers. The rumor spreads around and the Kohroku Theme develops further with other instruments and a chromatic xylophone line, hinting at the chromatisism of the Lady Eboshi Theme. Underneath all that play the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) in staccato strings.
We see Ashitaka, Kohroku and Yakul as they land on the shore. During that, the chords of the Ashitaka Theme are playing (A#m - C# - C#(b5) - G# - F#). Alongside the chords, the Kohroku Theme plays in staccato woodwind, as Kohroku tells about his journey with Ashitaka. The tone shifts as Gonza, the henchman of Lady Eboshi, comes into play. During this section, the 5/4 rythm returns alongside the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) in high trumpets. In response, Kohroku praises Ashitaka and the chords of the Ashitaka Theme (A#m - C# - C#(b5) - G# - F#) and the Kohroku Theme play. The Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) play as Gonza shouts at Ashitaka. He eventually goes down to him and the Irontown Theme plays in a menacing setting with little supporting celesta accents. Gonza speaks to Ashitaka directly and the Ashitaka B Phrase plays. Suddenly, he gets interrupted by Toki, the wife of Kohroku. As she shouts at him for not being able to work, a new theme, The Women Of Irontown Theme, plays, underlining the "strictness" of the women of Irontown. The embarrassment of Kohroku is underlined with the Kohroku Theme in high strings. Gonza reacts to Toki and the Eboshi Chords (A#m - G#m6) play for a brief moment. Toki is not impressed and she confronts Gonza. During this section, the The Women Of Irontown Theme and the Irontown Theme play together, highlighting the battle that is going on. Finally, the focus shifts on Ashitaka again and we hear the opening intervall of the Ashitaka Theme under the chords of the Ashitaka Theme (A#m - C# - C#(b5) - G# - F#) as Toki speaks with him.
Suddenly, we hear the voice of Lady Eboshi and the mood changes. There are hints of the Lady Eboshi Theme in the signature instrument of the theme, the clarinet. The harp plays not just the Eboshi Chords, but the chords of the whole Lady Eboshi Theme (A#m - G#m6 - D# - Adim). It cannot be long until the Lady Eboshi Theme is fully revealed. At the end, Toki jokes around and the The Women Of Irontown Theme plays, ending the cue.
