School is finally over and the Hong Kong sky has at long last turned a hard, glazed blue. That is, when it isn’t dull and grey and threatening to spilt stormily over our heads, as it did over the last weeks before summer break. While I doubt anyone will be pining for our academic workloads, it’s sad to split up from your friends for months on end, whether you’re travelling overseas or staying in HK. Of course, as we get older, the biggest ‘farewell’ begins to loom over us, the one that comes at the end of high school and ends in university. Nevertheless, farewells are usually bittersweet, signalling new beginnings as much as they do loss.
This edition, our writers have drawn on this theme, producing poetry, as well as pieces on death and forgetting.
Enjoy reading, and have a lovely summer.
