Fibric Stitches

Overview

Fibric Stitches is a versatile node for creating highly customizable stitches and seams on Fibric garments. It supports multiple input methods, including edge selection, mesh drawing, UV drawing, and texture input, giving artists extensive control over stitch appearance, width, spacing, rotation, and more.
The node also works as a standalone tool, meaning it can be applied directly to a mesh without requiring a curve-based fabric generated by Fibric.
Choose from preset stitch types like cross, feather, and braids, or create your own custom stitches to achieve anything from realistic seams to bold decorative stitching. 

Main Settings

Visualize Mode

• • Full
    Final output of stitches that work in harmony with Fibric garments.

  • Low
    Preview output optimized for performance feedback.
    Important: Visualize Low turns the node red to indicate a temporary preview state. Use it only for performance feedback and switch back to Full mode before finalizing your setup.
    
    

General

• • Name
    Name of stitches curves.

  • From Input Curves
    Enables the usage of Input Curves. A Fibric Input Curves Config node must be connected to the third input.

  • Curves Selection
    List of connected Input Curves. A Fibric Input Curves Config node must be connected to the third input.

  • Edges Selection
    Selection of edges to creates stitches from.

  • Ignore
    Fibric pieces to ignore when placing the stitches on top of of the fabric.

  • Stitch Type
    Stitch type: Base, Cross, Feather ,ZigZag, Line, Braids.

  • Custom Stitch
    When stitch type is Custom, selection of custom stitch to instance, Custom Stitch. A Fibric Custom Stitch Config node must be connected to the fourth input.

  • Connect Backside
    Stitches get a seamless connection on the back.

  • Subdivide
    Controls the level of subdivision of the stitches.

  • Color
    Controls the color of the stitches based on stitch iteration.

Affect Fabric

• • Repulse

Controls the tension and stretch deformation caused by the stitches on the fabric.

Type Settings (Standard/custom)

• Spacing

  • Distance: Distance between stitches.

• Scale
  Scale of stitches in centimeters.

• Rotate
  Rotates the stitches across a full 360-degree range, with values from 0 to 1 representing a complete rotation cycle.

• Stretch
  Controls the scale of the stitches independently along X and Y axes, allowing directional stretching of the stitch pattern.

• Width
  Thickness of the stitch.

• Duplicate
  Clone the stitches multiple times with control over the number of duplicates and the X and Y offset between each clone.

• Remove

  • Remove Outside Fabric: Removes points that lands outside current fabric boundaries.

  • Random: Removes stitches randomly.

Offset

Offset the stitches.

• Random Offset X/Y
  Randomly displace the stitches along the X and Y axes for organic variation.

• Height Offset
  Displaces the stitches from the surface.

• Slide Offset
  Bias the stitches along the perpendicular (right) direction for directional shifting.

• Invert/Of
  Works in conjunction with Slide Offset to create an alternating pattern. Invert every # of # stitches to cycle through and alternate the slide bias direction, creating varied stitch offsets across the sequence.
