The Fibric Pattern node is the foundation of any fabric modeling workflow in your Fibric toolset. This node serves as the primary pattern creation and storage system, allowing users to create, define, and save various textile patterns including traditional weaves, knitting structures, and custom fabric designs.

Traditional woven fabric structures based on the interlacement of weft and warp yarns. These patterns are constructed by interpreting black and white diagram images that can be directly connected via the "weave image path" parameter. For optimal results, it is recommended to configure the weft and warp yarn counts to match the proportional ratios defined in the source diagram.

The knitting mode simulates weft knitting, where loops of yarn interlock horizontally to form a stretchy fabric. Instead of generating loops procedurally, the system uses a pre-modeled ribbon that is repeated and deformed along the pattern, ensuring consistent geometry and detail. An additional option allows you to purl the stitch, which inverts the ribbon’s direction to create the classic knit–purl variations.

This parameter controls which columns of ribbons are flipped to create purl stitches. The selection is based on the Range filter method, meaning columns are chosen in a repeating pattern defined by the Select and Of values.
Invert sets how many consecutive columns in each cycle are inverted.
Of sets the total size of the cycle.
For example, setting Invert = 1 and Of = 2 will flip every other column, producing an alternating knit–purl pattern. Setting Invert = 2 and Of = 4 will flip two columns out of every four, creating wider purl bands.
The custom mode gives full control over the knitting pattern by letting the user input a pre-modeled curve instead of relying on the default ribbon. Once the curve is provided, a set of parameters is exposed to fine-tune how it repeats and interlocks, allowing the creation of both weft and warp knitting structures.
This approach requires more effort and manual adjustment, but it provides a high degree of artistic freedom and makes it possible to build highly specific or experimental knit patterns beyond the standard setup.

Invert Filter (EXPERIMENTAL)
Uses the same logic as the parameter in the knitting mode, but in this case, since the input is a custom curve, we cannot ensure the purl effect.
The custom pattern mode functions as a free-form canvas, allowing users to insert any patch of curves they have modeled. These curves are then wrapped and processed by the full Fibric node set, making them behave like any other fabric pattern in the system.
This method opens the door to more experimental or decorative structures such as crochet, lace, or other handcrafted designs. It requires the most manual work from the user, but in return, it offers unlimited flexibility to bring unique textile styles into the workflow.

Fuse Ends
When enabled, this option will automatically merge the end points of the curves in the custom patch. This ensures continuity and avoids visible gaps when the pattern is wrapped or repeated.
Fuse Attribute
This parameter specifies the attribute name used to identify which points are considered endings of the curves to be fused. The user must assign this attribute when creating the original patch (for example, marking the first and last points of each curve). The Fuse Ends option will then use this attribute to decide which points to merge together.
