Task 2
Create Art Assets:
Character Sprites
Backgrounds
I use the Piskel app to design my character sprites and the animations
Main character: Bear
bear walking animations
bear normal attack animations
After some while, I found out that it requires a little too much of energy and effort for me to come out with so many sprite sheets, and I even have so many npcs. So I had to try the easy way by searching for sprite sheets online. Nevertheless, I still face a lot of issues, as bears are often portrayed as antagonist in games, but in my case, the main character bear is a protagonist, so I couldn't find much resources of cute and "harmless" bears. However, I still manage to find one which is quite suitable for my game.
Main Character: Bear
animations in order:
idle
walking
jumping
normal attack (throwing bee hive)
hurt/hitted/injury
die
Bear idle
Bear walking
Bear jumping
Bear NA
Bear hitted
Bear die
For the npcs, as they don't have many animations, basically just the idle state, so I designed them myself, according to the style of the bear
NPCs: Animal Villagers
animations in order:
Kangaroo idle
Cheetah idle
Tortoise idle
Bunny idle
Owl idle
Enemies: Final Boss
animations in order:
sleep
wake
idle
attack
attack 1
attack 2
attack 3
attack 4
damage
die
