This module prepares students for a conceptual learning process of interactive technologies and diversified media approaches within the spatial design context. It provides a basic foundation of theoretical understanding of the various approaches available within the spatial design context such as the performing arts, digital media, spatial interaction, anthropology, sociology, cybernetics, cognitive neuroscience, and aesthetics.

Assignment 1: create a visual research infographic on embedded systems in spatial design fields
Assignment 2: Conduct user research to understand the needs and challenges faced by wheelchair users in a specific environment
Final Project: Identify specific need and translate it into a conceptual design for a smart environment system, and develop clear and concise user manuals for the designed system.
