An EPICES student has insight into and is acquainted with the existing scientific/technological knowledge and skills in the relevant fields of study for the project.

He has the competence to expand/revise them further through study.


To achieve this learning goal during an EPICES project a student should:


  • Understand and master the foundations of knowledge of the relevant fields of study (theories, methods and techniques).
  • Understand and master the structure of and the coherence between the relevant fields of study.
  • Understand and master the skills of the relevant fields of study.
  • Be able to spot gaps in his knowledge and to revise and extend his knowledge through study.
  • Be able to spot gaps in his skill set and to revise and extend them through study and practice.
