Today at the lesson:

  • You will practice Reported Speech (Test);

  • You will learn about the best of British inventions;

  • You will learn to converse using new vocabulary.

I. Let's start with the test.

There are many inventions that we use every day. The inventors of some of them are very popular. Nevertheless, sometimes, we don’t even know who the author of the thing was.

II. Try to answer the questions.

  • What is an invention?

  • What inventors do you know?

  • What invention was the most important?

III. To talk about the inventions we need some words.

Accurately - точно, аккуратно

apparatus - устройство

appliance - прибор

decade - десятилетие

detailed - подробный

establish - устанавливать

marvel - чудо, удивление

steam train - паровоз

string - строка; струна

transmit - передавать

transmitter - передатчик

wire - провод, кабель

take for granted - принимать как должное

IV. Open your books - ex.2, p.151.

Listen to the text and try to understand the main content.

Complete the gaps (ORALLY).

Напишите:
