The Hungry Sound "m"

Learn how to say the “m” sound with Ms. Jennifer, a Speech-Language Pathologist at the ECLC. We call this sound the “hungry sound,” because it is a sound you might make when you are hungry or when you smell something delicious baking in the oven. Once your child can say “m” by itself, encourage them to try saying the following words slowly by stretching out the “m”: “moo,” “me,” “milk,” “mat,” and “mom.” You can also practice “m” at the end of the word in: “home,” “ham, “comb,” and “game.”
