The Angry Cat Sound "f"

Learn how to say the sound “f” with Ms. Jennifer, a Speech-Language Pathologist at the ECLC. We like to call this sound “the angry cat sound,” because angry cats show their teeth when hissing. Once your child can say “f” by itself, have them try saying the following words slowly by stretching out the “f”: “feet,” “fox,” “fan,” “fire.” Some students find it easier to say “f” at the end of the word when they are first practicing this sound. Try saying “off,” “wolf,” “tough,” and “huff.”
