Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Learning in Kindergarten

Congratulations! We have learned all the social skills in Cub Chat! During the next three lessons, we will focus on reviewing these important skills! These social skills will help make a smooth transition to Kindergarten or another preschool classroom next year as they help your child become a better learner.  In this video, children will focus on reviewing the listening rules, focusing attention, listening and using self-talk.

Riding the Kindergarten Bus

Several of our friends will ride the bus to Kindergarten next year. This can be exciting for some while scary for others. It is important for children to remember how to be detectives and look for clues on a friend’s face to see how they are feeling. The calm down steps and Cub Breathing techniques can help children calm their bodies to prepare them to ride the bus and face other new exciting challenges or situations!

Making New Friends

All of our friends will step into a new classroom, have a new teacher and meet new children next year. Although this can be exciting and scary at the same time, our friends have learned important social skills this year to help them adjust. We have learned school routines skills, identifying feelings, managing emotions, problem solving and how to make new friends. The fair ways to play, inviting others to play and joining in play will help your child be successful when making new friends.
