With regard to my own language and literacy creativity, I understand that my capacity to think outside the box and play around with words to fit various contexts is central in developing creativity and creative thinking among early childhood children. I am usually inspired by fiction, fantasy play, and pictures to bring intangible ideas to tangible levels, where they can easily be understood and reached by children. By combining advanced techniques like role-playing, interactive narratives, and word games, I can enhance children's imagination and language skills. Additionally, my love for encouraging open-ended questioning and enabling children to think logically and solve problems allows them to ask questions, question the use of language in diverse modes, and build their own stories, where they can be assertive in expression. In the facilitation of multiple methods of communication (written, spoken, and visual), I enable children to realize that creativity presents itself in multiple ways.
In early childhood, I recognize the value of a nurturing and adaptable setting where errors are seen as a positive aspect of the learning process. This enables children to be imaginative and try things out with minimal risk of error. By using creative language and literacy strategies, I seek to empower young children to be assured, inquiring learners, well-prepared to embrace new concepts in all aspects of the curriculum, with a love of learning and discovery that will last a lifetime.
