Vanna

Vanna is one the most relaxed beings one could ever hope to meet. Prone to passiveness, there is very little that genuinely annoys her. Vanna tries quite hard to avoid unnecessary arguments and subsequently is often seen as a pushover by her peers, making her an easy outlet for less peaceful viscets' frustrations. In spite of this, Vanna always makes it a point not to hold grudges or act resentfully, as she believes that it would only fuel more hate. This isn't to say that she'd take a beating willingly, but a fleeting scratch to get away is about as much as you'd get from her. Vanna and her small group of friends love travel, and Vanna keeps a scrapbook of their adventures together. This scrapbook is years old, and one of Vanna's most prized possessions, as it contains many valued memories and often serves to cheer her up on rough days. Possibly the only thing that can make her raise his voice would be seeing an unfair match. There can't possibly be a reason for a larger opponent to take on a fight that everyone knew they would win; so why cause the pain? She has calmed down considerably since her mob years, when she could have cared less about whether a match was fair or not and was more willing to do dirty work.

Relationships:

  • Rey- Although Rey and Vanna have not seen each other for a number of years, they left on good terms. Rey had known all along that Vanna had loved him, and truly did feel bad. He didn't want to be a heart breaker, so he never brought the topic up. He felt a bit honored that Vanna promised to turn herself around for the better to follow his passiveness and peacefulness, and respects her very much for her bravery to outright defy his father- something he avoided himself. Vanna sometimes thinks about the male and how he's doing, and hopes that Bastion returned Rey's feelings for him. It would be a shame if he didn't, Rey was such an honest and kind viscet. Rey hopes that Vanna found herself a better life, and does wish to possibly run into her again since he does still think of her as a friend.

  • Xian- Vanna's savior, in a way. The two met on the job shortly after Vanna's departure from the mob, and it was pretty clear to Xian that she had no idea how to live without direct instruction from a superior. Of course being the mother hen she is, Xian swooped down on her like a crow on carrion. Vanna very much appreciated Xian's guidance, not bothering to hide that she desperately needed it. Once being taken under Xian's wing, Vanna was quickly assisted in getting a better, albeit still small, apartment. Xian taught her how to cook for herself, how make sure everything was being paid on time, and other responsibilities that had previously been covered by her boss. The odd pair became close friends during this period and remain close. Xian likes Vanna's relaxed personality and her positivity, while Vanna admires Xian's organization and intelligence. Vanna sees Xian almost as a mother figure, but not quite.

  • Rosella- Vanna was introduced to Rose through Xian, and the two also started to get along quite well. Vanna could sit and listen to Rose's fantasies all day. Rose enjoys Vanna's relaxed company and finds her fun to debate with.

  • Vincent and Levi -

History:

  • Vanna grew up working as an assistant to a clock maker who had a strong political influence, one who used this influence in very questionable ways. Under the cover of night this viscet was a crime boss, the leader of a mob. It was only natural that Vanna would have a part in this, being his assistant both during business hours and mob hours. If she was honest with herself, she enjoyed it quite a bit. Vanna couldn't get enough of the excitement, the extra goods, and the freedom. She cherished the adrenaline rush. The one thing that haunted her was the guilt. Was the merchant she stole that necklace from struggling? How badly did she injure the thief that her boss sent her after- was he okay? These questions kept her up night after night, and if she herself hadn't been tight on resources she would have left. There was one other thing, however, that kept her from leaving. The mob boss had a son, one that was only two years older than her. He spoke with a silver tongue, clearly being groomed by his father to be his heir. He had a stunning purple coat with elegant cream swirls and emerald eyes, but he seemed to detest his father. In spite of what she told herself, Vanna knew that she had fallen for the reserved viscet, and tried time and time again to talk to him. She learned that his name was Rey, and they became friendly acquaintances. Even so, whenever the topic of conversation shifted to his father or Vanna's line of work, Rey would politely state that he did not wish to follow his father, nor did he like his business. As time went on the two continued to talk and Vanna finally admitted to herself that she had fallen for the male, but she knew she couldn't have him. Vanna also knew that she still wanted to ask Rey about his father's empire, and why he didn't want to inherit it. She caught him on his way out with his friend Bastion. Vanna took him aside with the excuse that she needed help finding a clock to bring to his father before turning to look at him, inhaling before starting the conversation. It wasn't and easy conversation to have, but in the end Vanna knew that Rey's heart was in the right place. He disliked the shadiness, the violence, and the grief that came with it, and admitted to her (under the conditions that she tell nobody) that he would eventually like to ask Bastion to stay with him, and knew that he couldn't do that as a mob boss. Vanna quietly thanked Rey, standing in the hallway. She was sad, yes, but she made a promise to herself. She'd turn herself around to be more like the male that she had fallen for, and vowed to quit the mob to work towards peace when her situation allowed it.

Reflection Upon Her Past:

  • Vanna knows that what she was doing wasn't the right thing, and is glad that she left the mob before her luck- or the law- caught up with her. While she does reminisce on the action and rush once in a while, she has no desire to partake in such activities again. She avoids the subject when possible, knowing very well that it could make other's uncomfortable or even get her in trouble. She does not, however, regret it. She regrets those who she may have brought harm to, and she regrets having to steal for her boss, but Vanna knows that her time in the business made her who she is today. It made her intelligent, cunning, fit, an practical- even if she didn't know how to harness these. The time she spent in the mob showed her the struggles that many face, making her much more sympathetic and understanding. It also showed her how far some would go for some extra money, and how it could corrupt those who hungered for it and tore families apart. Still, Vanna wouldn't change it for the world. In the end it made her a better being and encouraged her to quit and work towards bettering herself and the world around her. This would not only benefit herself, but the others around would hopefully feel the affects as well. One thing she doesn't look forward to is the prospect of explaining this to her future children. She fears that they may think that it's okay because their mother did it, or that they may lose their respect for her. In a worst case scenario, they may talk about it to someone with authority, and her past may come back to haunt her. If there was one thing she could change it would be her acting skills, oddly enough. Her past resulted in her being a bit nervous around police, so it's hard for her to play it cool if she ever happens to talk to one.
