Lead hunter for Dustin's pack and Aponi's mate
Best friends w/ Lucine, friends with Puma and Altair
Left her old pack due to dwindling resources and poor leadership but struggled to survive on her own, ended up severely underweight and malnourished
Ended up getting injured and found by Lucine and brought back to the pack where she was accepted in and recovered her strength
Energetic and eager to help, maybe a little more friendly towards strangers than either Aponi or Dustin would like
Reckless with where she steps- hooves are hard to hurt after all
Fell very much in love with Aponi much to everyone's confusion
Pried Aponi out of her very tightly shut shell, did not realize she wasn't that open with anyone else and therefore was very unaware that Aponi shared her feelings until she confessed
No thoughts head empty
Relationships:
Aponi - after a confusing start due to Larkspur's incredible obliviousness to the fact that Aponi did in fact share her feelings, the two's relationship moved along swimmingly. Many members of the pack joke that they must have been made for each other, given their shared butterfly markings. Larkspur makes sure that her slow-to-open-up mate is doing okay and gets some social interaction, and Aponi keeps Lark grounded. The pair also joke that Lark got all the tail length that Aponi missed out on with her firefly tail.
Lucine - Larkspur's best friend outside of Aponi. They're both relatively young, excitable viscets who excell in their respective duties. They work together like a machine when hunting and take great pride in doing so. Lucine's acute senses and skill in tracking pair well with Larkspur's ambition and fearlessness in the hunt, and with their combined strength they can take down prey that a single viscet would struggle with.
Dustin - as the alpha of the pack, Dustin takes pride in the amount of progress Larkspur has made since joining. He has faith in her hunting skills, and with both Aponi and Lucine vouching for her he had no problem giving Lark the responsibility of lead hunter. Lark is grateful for Dustin's kind treatment of her and works hard daily to pay him back, even though he insists she paid him back years ago.
Kodiak - the two don't interact a ton, but Larkspur is thankful for the healer's help with getting her back in to shape. She occasionally assists Aponi in bringing Kodiak herbs, which pleases Kodiak greatly. Lark also helped with the digging and construction of the backup medicine den, where emergency herbs where stored.
History:
After deciding to leave her own pack due to poor leadership, Lark tried to strike out on her own. She very quickly discovered however that surviving outside of a pack was nigh impossible. After a rough starting month she never quite bounced back; prey that she could have easily taken down on her own before were outrunning her in her weakened state, and without the help of scouts it was hard to find prey in the first place. Eight months in and she was down to barley half of her healthy weight and was living almost exclusively off of plants and the occasional bird. Lark needed to find a pack, even just another viscet, she knew she couldn't keep it up for much longer. Finally while searching for new berry bushes she caught the scent of not just one, but multiple viscets in the area. In her excitement she started sprinting, not even thinking of the possibility of them being unwelcoming or hostile. Luckily or unluckily, this was not a problem; in her excitement she also failed to take into account the unfamiliar terrain and promptly tumbled into a ravine, hitting her head just before losing consciousness.
When Larkspur came to she realized she was in a den of sorts, and in the dim light she could make out the pelts of two viscets who were speaking to each other. They turned to her as she accidentally let out a confused whine. She learned that they were the healer and the alpha of the pack she had caught scent of and that their scout had found her unconscious at the bottom of the ravine. After reassuring the alpha that she didn't mean to trespass, she explained her situation expressed her desire to join the pack. After a hearing by the entire group, she was welcomed into the pack. As much as she loved everyone in the pack, her eye was almost always on the lead guard Aponi. Something about the sarcastic, short-tempered female made her pelt warm up and her heart swell.
As Larkspur made herself more at home with her new pack she proved both to herself once again and to her new family that she was a skilled hunter, and she worked wonderfully with the scout, Lucine. Lucine could track prey from the faintest clue, and with the duo working together the pack was always well-fed. It wasn't long before she was appointed the lead hunter. Much to Lark's delight, Aponi slowly began to open up too. It turned out she was wonderful to be around and they slowly became closer. Lark would accompany Aponi on her night patrols, blissfully unaware that these were usually private and that she was the only one allowed to come with her until Lucine pointed it out. Surely enough, the ever-bold Aponi made a move one night and the pair became official, much to nobody but Lark's surprise. Larkspur couldn't be happier with the life and love she found, and wake up each day eagerly looking forward to whatever awaits the pack.
