The future is in your hands

Why now

The main hall was opened in 1890 and is sound, although damp in places. In the 1930s the basement was excavated and has a well used Snooker Room and store rooms. The last major modifications to the kitchen and toilet extensions were in the 1980s.

The toilet extension was built onto the existing garden walls, with a single skinned concrete block wall. Over the years this has moved as there are no real foundations in this extension.

The kitchen was built out of brick and is coming away from the main building. It is now letting in water.

This project includes

If this work isn’t done within approximately 2 years, this Village Hall will have to close!

What we are doing

Contractors - Organising site visits to obtain quotes.

Fundraising Events - Arranging some new and exciting Fundraising Events, details to be announced shortly.

Grants - Submitting Grant applicants.

So it's business as usual until we have secured the funds to do the work.

What your help will do

Your help will secure the only current, community asset, owned by members of the community and allow it to continue to operate in a safe manner for several decades to come.

So the Village Hall will continue to host a variety of events that will enhance the lives of family and friends and help them make memories.

And provide a venue for activities where the focus on people's mental and physical health is key.

How you can help

We will be launching our appeal shortly and sharing with you how you can help.

But until then - become a member - hire our hall - attend our events.

Although our hasn't officially started, that didn't stop some of our local residents and Friends of the Village Hall raising money for us.

Nicky & Amy Whiting transformed their home into a spooky scare house over Halloween. They invited visitors from far and wide to come and take part in the interactive walk-through display with many animatronics, video effects, specialist sound recordings and live actors.

We want to thank Nicky & Amy, all who helped put on this event and especially the many visitors who donated and helped raise over £500 for the Village Hall.
