摘要:

由於資訊網路的快速發展以及全球化的影響,人們有了更多的機會去接觸不同語言,更多的人會想要學第二外語,其實用性比以前更高。本研究目的是要探討大學生對於第二外語的學習傾向,以及他們最想學的第二外語及動機程度。本研究採用問卷調查進行,此研究的樣本為南台灣四所大學學生共兩百一十五份有效問卷隨機抽樣而來,四所大學分為公立普通大學及科技大學,及私立普通大學與科技大學。研究分析兼併質性與量化的方式,包含問卷調查及訪談,並透過電腦的SPSS統計套裝軟體進行分析,其中使用的統計包含描述性統計、探索式因素分析,及獨立樣本t檢定。本研究經過調查後發現大部分學生喜好的語言依序為日文與韓文,不過其學習動機程度沒有明顯區別。雖在四類大學之學生有高度的學習動機程度及學習傾向,但在學習動機程度上也沒有明顯區別。本研究調查結果則顯示大部分學生偏好透過多媒體教學來學習第二外語及其聽力與口說。最後,本研究結果將可做為各大學在未來第二外語課程安排與開課之參考。

Abstract:

Due to the rapid growth of information technology and globalization, people have more chances to contact different languages so more people want to learn second foreign language which the practicability is higher than before. This study aimed to explore college students’ learning preference in second foreign language and their motivation and learning orientation toward the second foreign language. A total of 215 valid questionnaires were collected from college students who were currently enrolled in public universities, private universities, public universities of science and technology, and private university of science and technology. All collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and independent sample t-test by SPSS 20.0 for Windows. The interview data were also summarized to support the statistical results. The major findings of the study indicate the second foreign language that most students prefer to learn is first Japanese and second Korean. There is no significant difference between the languages and motivation. Although college students have high motivation and learning orientation in second foreign languages, there is no significant difference between their school distribution and learning motivation. Moreover, the results show that most college students prefer learning second foreign language and its listening and speaking through online digital media. Finally, some suggestions can be provided universities with useful suggestions for the second foreign language course arrangements in the future.
