英文軟性新聞之中文翻譯分析及研究

Analysis on the Chinese Translation of English Soft News

摘要:

     因為當今電視與電腦的廣大使用，民眾對於新聞的接收似乎比較重視圖像、聲光、圖片、互動性、大眾化及娛樂性。因此，軟性新聞便在現今的新聞播報中變得越來越重要及普遍。然而，探索英文軟性新聞翻譯的論文在台灣卻相對地比較不足，且多數的論文主要都注重在軟性新聞的編輯。有鑑於此，本研究以分析台灣聯合報中英文軟性新聞的中文翻譯，來了解軟性新聞翻譯中主要使用的翻譯技巧有哪些，以及譯者是如何翻譯英文軟性新聞，使之能夠被台灣讀者所接受或吸引台灣讀者。本研究不僅以量化的方式，用百分比來統計應用在雙語軟性新聞裡的翻譯技巧，也以質性的方式，藉由接受美學來分析雙語的軟性新聞。研究結果顯示逆譯法是最常被使用的，而正說反譯法則最少；且譯者會在運用某些翻譯方式時，以期待視野和審美距離兩項觀點為依據，讓翻譯過的中文軟性新聞能夠被接受或具吸引力。

Abstract:

     Since the wide use of televisions and technologies, the reception of news seems to put more weight on graphic images, sound, pictures, interaction, popularization and news entertainment. Therefore, soft news has become more important and common in today’s news reporting. However, the theses that explore English soft news translation are relatively insufficient in Taiwan, and most of them mainly focus on soft news trans-editing. For this reason, the aim of this study is to analyze Chinese translation from English soft news in the United Daily. News in Taiwan know what kinds of translation strategies are mainly used in soft news translation and how the translators translate English soft news to make it acceptable or attractive to Taiwanese readers. This study not only uses the quantitative method, which is to count the translation strategies applied in the bilingual soft news by percentage, but also the qualitative method, which is to analyze the bilingual soft news with aesthetic of reception. The results show that reverse translation is employed the most frequently while negation the least, and the translators will use some translation methods to make Chinese translated soft news acceptable or attractive with two viewpoints, which are horizon of expectation and aesthetic distance.
