Reflection: This is a simple lesson on rounding numbers to the nearest 10, using a number line. The students watch a teacher-created video and answer questions on a Form. An extension activity will be to have students share their learning by creating a "whiteboard" lesson of their own on rounding.
The lesson above has all the links needed for the lesson and the Google Form used for assessment. This is the app, Educreations, that I used to create the video. It turns your iPad into a whiteboard. The main drawback I had using this app is that the free version only gives you one slide deck to use. You can add many new pages, but if you want to use it to organize your creations, it may be better to pay for it, or use a different app.
This lesson was kind of fun to create. It certainly took some extra time, but I like the idea of creating these little by little and in a year or two, you will potentially have many DIY lessons for the students to use in a Flipped/ "in-class flip"/Hyperdoc manner. The lesson has some components of Cognitivism because it builds on prior know of understanding numbers. It could take some constructivist aspects if I were to get students to interact and explain what is happening-plus the extension activity, I think, has some potential for this too. Thanks for any feedback on the lesson.
