ISS activities are checks for understanding that occur at the end of class, and they cement learning by connecting back to the lesson objective. These activities ideally promote student reflection of self-growth, and a way for the teacher to collect data to know how to adjust /prepare for the next day's lesson. ISS is not the assignment, nor is it home work, nor should it be graded. Note: Grading does NOT mean the same thing as assessing.
