Google Classroom
A Self-Paced Google Classroom Course for Educators
Matt Miller, author of Ditch That Textbook, has put together this free eBook titled 50+ Google Classroom Tips and Tricks and his website, Ditch That Textbook, contains a wealth of tips, tricks and tutorials for using Google Classroom.
Google Classroom is an online environment where as a teacher, you can post assignments and quizzes, make announcements, share materials, and ask questions. It lends itself to differentiation, allowing you to post individualized assessments and materials to individual students, whole classes, or multiple classes with a single click. You can easily collaborate with colleagues by co-teach classes with other instructors. Because it's integrated with the rest of Google's G Suite for Education, assigning, managing, collecting, and grading student work is streamlined.
Course 1: Getting Started (4 Tutorials ~6 minutes)
Make sure the sound is on your device. Select the tutorial that best suites your learning goal. Then click on the down-facing arrow, to have a voice-over narrated, step-by-step interactive tutorial show you how to use Google Classroom.
For a PDF copy of each set of directions, click on the "PDF" link at the top left-hand corner of each tutorial.
Course 2: Assigning and Posting (~10 minutes)
For the next set of tutorials you'll find it helpful to have "students" join your class. To experiment, have a colleague join your class and do the same with your colleague.
