Preliminary

The photos do not give a complete picture of the bud. Different bud shapes are possible: male, female, vegetative and catkins.

These 4 possibilities in autumn, winter, spring and summer, sometimes give a different picture: colour, shape, just before opening leaves or catkins, etc.

Consequently, if we want to publish photos of buds of 100 taxa, we would have to have 1600 (4 x 4 x 100) photos to compare perfectly.
