Strongly drooping branches ('weeping' branches)
3a Twigs greenish-yellow, orange-yellow and ochre-grey; branches distinctly drooping. Almost exclusively male specimens planted. Very commonly planted, occasionally feral. Some catkins bear male and female flowers and can therefore spread.
► Salix x pendulina f. salamonii (S. babylonica x S. x fragilis f. vitellina)
3b Twigs grey-green or brown-green, not yellowish or orange; branches slightly less drooping. Leaves 1-1.5 cm wide, finely toothed and silky hairy when young. Mainly male specimens.
► Salix x pendulina f. pendulina (S. alba x S. babylonica x S. euxina)
3d Brown-yellow-orange branches strongly sinuous and drooping; leaves curved-hollow.
► Salix x pendulina f. erythroflexuosa (S. babylonica f. tortuosa x S. x pendulina f. salamonii)
3e Olive-green branches, drooping; with conspicuously spiralling curled leaves; rare ornamental willow and female mutant of S. babylonica.
► Salix babylonica 'Crispa' (syn. annularis)
