Appendix 4 Names...
Willow names everywhere
The naming of willow often leads to some confusion. Not only are there the many synonyms and the sometimes contradictory names for hybrids, but garden centres and growers are very inventive in creating willow names with a view to better sales. The specific naming of willows in beekeeping and weed culture is another story. Cultural varieties, various clone groups, etc. literally form a colour palette combined with names of various countries and regions. A horror scenario when determining and looking for a frame of reference, but an enrichment for lovers of this living heritage.
