Lesson1

This is the introduction to the class and where it all begins! While there was a syllabus and an orientation included (links below), this class began with an introduction about the material we will discuss in later lessons. I created learning objectives that will help the students' progress into the program and become better students, along with a checklist to guide them. Because it was an introduction class, most of the assignments were easier than they will be later. First there were two discussion posts, "Why I Am Taking This Class" and "Three Truths And The Lie". The first one is explaining why they are taking the class, which is a good way to evaluate what students are taking the class and why. The second one "Three Truths And A Lie" is a good icebreaker that helps students learn about their classmates, plus it allows students to brag about themselves. These two discussion posts carry less points because they are intended to be icebreakers instead of assessing their knowledge. I created these discussion posts so students don't feel intimidated right away, which is important to maintain the class and their interest. There is a survey that isn't graded so I can see what the students know already. I will then create a survey in the last lesson to see how much they learned. There is also a syllabus test I created but will discuss that further in syllabus and orientation.
