Bale! Euros

The design (BTS)

Background: I loved the color scheme of the Wales kit and I wanted to make a design around that, something that could also promote the Euros coming up this summer.

Contrast: There is natural contrast between the red and the green as complimentary colors, but the added white elements provide a bit more contrast.

Alignment: I wanted to put the logo and number in the corners to allow maximum room for Bale to take up the design. The Name bubble is a little unconventional, but the alignment of it is roughly eye level with Bale and placed in a spot that looks as if he is the one saying it.

Proximity: Bale is the main feature in this design and takes up most of the canvas. He is placed on the left third and his eyes on the top third.

Repetition: A lot of the repetition comes from uniforms colors being repeated through the design. The green and red background is split and features small pops of yellow paint splatter.

Color Scheme: Green, red and yellow — all pulled from the uniform.

Font Choice: I wanted a playful, exciting font to match the colors and the screaming coming from the word bubble.
