Hi, Everyone,
We had a great meeting this morning talking about how much 'Maxine' inspired us. It was a tough challenge for a few of us and a real opportunity to try something new and different and/or expand or improve our skills - the definition of a challenge.
Pictures were taken and will be available on the guild website and/or Facebook thanks to Mary, Michelle, and Trudy.
As for our next challenge, we finally settled on Flower Power and/or Critters. I think that spring was in the back of our minds as we try to make it through the cold and snow that seems to have defined January 2026.
Our next meeting will on Saturday, April 25th, at 1:00 pm. I have requested the room and, once it has been confirmed, I will email everyone.
A few miscellaneous notes:
Susan B. mentioned a book entitled Quilt Talk by Sam Hunter which includes projects with paper-pieced letters, numbers and symbols in case you are inspired to make some 'chatty' quilted items.
Linda G. mentioned that the Blackstone Valley Heritage Quilters Guild is planning a quilt show on March 15.
Trudy M. talked about quilt designer Shannon Brinkley and her Scrappy Applique techniques.
Hollis Turnbow put together kits for blocks for the Crossroads Quilt to celebrate America's 250th birthday this summer. If you are interested, please contact Allison Rainville.
Modern Quilter Amy Friend will be the featured speaker at the guild's February 15th meeting.
That's it for now!
Stay warm and well.....and THINK SPRING!
Sue
