Hi, Everyone,
We had a fun meeting yesterday at the Mod Squad. Our challenge had been three-fold - complementary colors, star light star bright, and denim and lace. Nearly everyone met the challenge and some went above and beyond, showing and sharing all three options! And, there was quite a variety of quilted items - mug rug sized (Susan B), small wallhangings / table toppers (Michelle, Joy, Sue T), a yoga mat (Mary R), and a fidget quilt (Annemarie). And, then there was Becky B with her baby quilt in complementary colors, her colorful starry table runner, and her denim and lace circular wallhanging. Whata show!
As for other-than-modern quilts, Ruth shared her small quilt made from leftover blocks. It all came together very well. Ruth also shared information about Clarice Cliff, a ceramic artist and designer who began her career in the 1920's. Check out the link below and learn about her interesting story and designs.

And, there is a movie on Prime about Clarice entitled The Colour Room. Ruth says it is very good. It will fit right into our theme for our next challenge - Art Deco. The Art Deco movement dominated the 1920's and 1930's and is a precursor to modern quilting. So put on your thinking caps and join the next challenge.
Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, August 23, at 10 am at Annemarie's home not too far from the Charlton Baptist Church. I will email a reminder to everyone at the beginning of August.
