Hi, everyone!!
Yesterday's Mod Squad meeting was great! (see picture carousel below....) I guess that a difficult challenge brings out the chatter. Despite everyone agreeing that the 'snip, rip & drop' challenge was not a favorite (more than likely, a once and done), everyone did do it. I don't know what that means - just another question to ponder.
Among some of the interesting tidbits that surfaced were Monique's love of Bauhaus and the wedding pillow that she was asked to make from fabric snipped from wedding dresses and suits - now that's a story and a challenge! Ros introduced a new technique that she used for her challenge - Interleave - a quilt-as-you-go technique that adds interest and movement to your piece. Susan B walked through her new facing technique, which makes her piece more modern. Marcia showed us her recent foray into sashiko and new-to-the-Mod-Squad Ashlee elaborated on sashiko and showed us her in-process handwork that is cozy to work on and will be stunning when completed. Ruth showed us a few of her recent tops and Trudy presented a finished quilt with lots of fun animals. And, Becky B presented her three-year in-process quilt of circles within circles and squares - not only very colorful but lots of fun for using scraps. Finally, a few of us are involved in the Modern Quilt Studio's current quilt-along - Secret Agent - to be continued at our next meeting.
All in all, we had a great time sharing our quilting adventures.
And, now onto our next challenge. After several ideas were mentioned, everyone agreed to our next challenge - focus on Monochromatic. Choose a color and go for it. Here again is the link that I had originally sent with the email reminder if you want a kick-start:

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, April 27th at 12:30 pm at the Community Room at the Charlton Library. I will send out a reminder about a week before.
Enjoy the snow!
Thanks a lot,
Sue T
