Modern Quilt Group (AKA the "Mod Squad")

The Mod Squad is a small group within the guild which meets every three months on Saturdays - usually in January, April, July, and October.  They use challenges to explore modern quilting and often have presenters who lead discussion on specific techniques and styles.

What is "modern quilting"? According to the Mod Squad, there are characteristics which help identify modern quilts:

But mainly - it seems to be a philosophy of "Anything Goes".  Except for possibly old jewelry and other adornments which make it more "Art Quilting" than something functional.
