Cospaws

Cospaws is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 by Skylor Harris and DJay Harshman, two service dog handlers who wanted to be a resource and help those with service dogs in their community. The use of service dogs as a treatment option is growing in popularity, and Cospaws seeks to help people better understand service animals and create a welcoming, supportive community for service dog owners. We educate the public and businesses about different types of assistance animals and their role in helping their handlers to help people better understand the role of service animals.

Along with educating the public, Cospaws supports people with service animals. We know the importance of community, and the Cosplay troupe allows handlers of assistance animals to get together at special events with their dogs in costumes. This promotes community among handlers while also encouraging people to approach the handlers and ask questions about their dogs. Cospaws also provides expert and affordable service dog training as well as handler crisis support so that everyone, especially handlers with lower income, can get the dog training and support they need. We understand bills piling up, and our goal is to alleviate those financial burdens through our bill assistance and animal food bank programs, and helping handlers find other resources for medical and emotional help as well.

Cospaws is here to help handlers and their service dogs. Run by a small staff of volunteers, we are a non-profit organization that relies on donations to help our assistant animal community in time of need.
