Autumn Gold Knight

Inspiration: Most of the costume is based off of the Monster Hunter World characters, but really I based it f I was in the world and had my own armor. (So more of a Create your own Character)

Materials

1. EVA foam for 95% percent of the costume. Foam was either Floor Mat EVA foam or TNT Cosplay Foam.

2. Gloves were bought but foam armor pieces were created and attached.

3. Shoe Covers also made of Foam .

4. Cape was Sewn around the edges (First time really using a sewing machine, it took a few tries)

5. Chain Mail: Spray Painted Metallic Fish net from Hobby Lobby.

6. Foam Inserts in Helmet.

7. All spikes were made by combining 2-3 pieces of foam then sanding the round edges.

8. Pieces are attached by Elastic, Buckles, Magnets and Faux leather string.

9. Everything was hand painted, weathering and shadowing also by hand (no airbrush) .

10. Scythe: Foam and PVC pipe, with some fabric and faux leather string.

11. This is really the first hand made from head to toe cosplay I have done and I couldn't be prouder.

Reference pics: No true reference pics only those from Monster hunter world which I based it in. This was my own creation.

Alice Angel from Bendy and the Ink Machine

This cosplay was full of firsts for me. Starting at the top, I made my angel halo out of a smooth white foam floral wreath, cut up oxygen tubing, and a black head band. I wanted my halo cartoony for the character. I attached the pieces of oxygen tubing glued together with hot glue, and hot glued it to the foam ring and black head band. I used a black Hestia wig from Epic Cosplay. My white horns are made out of a sculpy air dry clay and before drying, I put a screw in both of them. Upon drying, I hot glued the screw heads to a second head band that I wear underneath my wig. This was made so that the screws could fit through the wig and keep it secured. My strapless dress is made out of satin, lined, has boning, and an invisible zipper. This was my first time using satin, lining satin, using an invisible zipper, and using boning. I modified my pattern to make a shorter dress as well as making it to my height and measurements. I used a 1950s Singer Heavyweight seeing machine to sewe everything together. My gloves are ones I've made previously for other cosplays. The long black gloves are performance stretch spandex/cotton blend that I made for Shiny Delphox from Pokemon and Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY. I changed them slightly by adding a small slit for my thump to get through to still use my cell phone with the right glove. This is hidden the pair of white gloves that I made for my Yumiko Takagi/Yumie cosplay from Hellsing. They were made out of a performance stretch spandex/cotton and I added the black circles on the palms of the white gloves with a black Sharpie. The white bow on the front of the dress is made out of broadcloth and is folded and assembled with hot glue and a hair clip. It's reinforced with safety pins as well on the dress, just as a precaution to keep it in place. The garters are made with a special kind of elastic that does rub or cut into the skin. This was my first time making garters and I made two different kinds because why not. One kind is with a black elastic and suede like trim, and the second kind is with a elastic net trim. I measure for 5" above my knees and sewed the trim down to the elastic. I bought my heels and a strapless bra for this dress.

Olivia from Fire Emblem Awakening/Heroes

Purchased items:

-Shorts -Socks

-Headband -2 wigs & Curly wig clip

-Shoes -Strapless bra

Wig:

Started with Nina from Arda-wigs in ‘tulip pink’ with a matching curly clip. Trimmed nina and added more wefts into the ponytail for extra volume. I later bought another wig that was twice the length of Nina also in ‘Tulip pink’.

Parted the new wig into three sections and pulled back for a ‘natural’ ponytail look and added the clip on top covering the excess hair. The two and a half wigs added creating max volume and curl that Olivia has with her godly hair.

Headband:

Started with a base white headband, added sequence and gems/pearls to match Olivia’s design and add detail.

Later added clips to the hairclip to help secure to wig and not have it slip or fly off while dancing around or basic wear.

Dress:

Placed bra on body form and placed scrap fabric around to cut and create pattern due to Olivia having a unique design that I had to draft myself.

The top comes in two pieces due to design and mobility. The bottom part is hand stitched to the bra. The hip drape was pleated at the top and frills added to the bottom.

Embroidery/pearls were added to the drapes and shirts to add detail. Added gems and lining to the top hem of the bra which was also hand stitched.

Pants/Sleeves:

I’ve done Performing arts Inigo from Fire Emblem Heroes in the past who has similar outfit tropes to Olivia (as he is her son) so I took what I learned from him and mistakes I made and applied them to Olivia.

First part was drafting a pattern. Inigo’s pattern I found bunched unevenly and looked square so I altered the design to keep the poof, with half the bunching. I ended up remaking her pants a total of three times before I found a pattern that worked.

For the ends I added elastic, but to avoid issues I had with Inigo with uneven bunching I stretched out the fabric with the elastic and stitch four seams to keep the pieces attached while ensure even dispersion. Both arms and legs I added pink glitter for an ombre effect, as well as pearls to the pants.

Armor Pieces:

The arm and leg cuffs were formed with 4mm eva and lined/detailed with bevels. They were then secured with elastic and velcro so they could easily be removed or adjusted. I made this change from when I made my Inigo cosplay who had a solid piece that slid on, however this caused them to slide off easily and couldn't be adjusted.

The hip pieces had a foam base then coated and detailed with worbla. I added hinges and clips to attach and detach them. All armor pieces were plasti dipped, painted, weathered with brown paint, then primed with multiple layers of modge podge.

For the hip bangles I took a bag of pre pierced bangles and rings and clipped them together into 6 strands and attached them to the waist pieces.

Chakrams:

I took apart a small plastic loom for the base and shaped out some spokes from tinfoil. I then wrapped the tinfoil in foam clay smoothing them to the loom. I then coated them with worbla for better support and shape.

After prime, paint, and coated, I added the fabric drapes.

Details:

After the costume was finished I added rhinestones to the shoes, headband, and bra.

Junkrat from Overwatch

Materials: Fabric, 3D printer filament (PLA), EVA foam, Fabric paint

We used sewing, foam carving/molding, 3D printing and various painting technics. I handmade the shorts and patches. I used a pair of old shorts to make a template for them and used fabric paint on the patches I made. For the bandages I died them with black tea and then burned them. The suspenders were altered and resown. All of the other items were either made from foam or 3D printed or a combination of the two. The 3D printed pieces(gun, bear trap, grenades, flask, land mine, peg leg, hand, belt buckle, tire spikes)were sized using 3d builder(too fit me), then we sliced them for printing. The foam pieces (arm, knee, tire, and bottom of landline)were made from scratch, building the part as we went without a template. Both the 3D pieces and foam pieces were then glued, primed, painted, and weathered. For the landmine we built it on the boot so I could wear it and it would work with the peg leg. The wig was bought styled but when it came in I did not like the tips of the hair so I used some black dye and added it to the tips and parts of the hair to add depth.
