Mercy from Overwatch

Photographer: Nlightened Designs

Description: I made everything besides the under shirt and the pants which were bought from a thrift store and modified. Materials used are worbla, Eva foam, craft foam, pvc pipe, fur, leather, and non stretch fabric. The paint job is mainly spray paint and airbrush. The wings and staff can detach for easier transportation. I made base patterns for the armor on paper and tape and then transferred it to the foam. Glued it all together with contact cement and superglue. Primed it all with plastidip and then painted.

King Koopa (Hammer Slam Bowser)

Photographer: Drewpewpew

Description: This was made almost entirely out of EVA foam floor mats. The small spikes are sculpey. The hammer was made out of pvc pipe, home deopot buckets, pink foam, and eva foam and weighed about 7lb when it was all said and done. The texture on the hammer took many hours- each "hammered metal" knotch was dremmeled in. Everything was hand made by me besides the boots which I just modified, and the fishnet tights.

Lemon Cake (Based on an original design by Sakizo)

Photographer: WeNeals Photography and Retouching

Description: This costume is entirely handmade except for the petticoat, earrings, and base umbrella. The base skirt is made from 4 layers of organza gathered into an elastic waistband, each layer finished with a rolled hem. The main shirt fabric is taffeta woven with a flowery texture. I used 5 different kinds of lace, some of which had to be hand painted to match. The umbrella was originally off-white so I dyed it yellow to match and hand sewed a blue lining in the underside. The shirt has more than 60 pearl-cabochons that I beaded by hand on felt, cut, and attached to the shirt by hand. All of the lemon slices you see on the dress are REAL lemons that I dehydrated and cast in resin-- a finicky process as any mistake could cause an improper cure in the resin or eventual decomposition of the lemon. The hat is a hand carved floral foam base with resin "frosting" that attaches to the wig with magnetic snaps. I also styled the wig myself-- the base wig was at least 10 inches longer and curly, so I cut and styled it with a fabric steamer.

Steampunk Trident Launcher

Photographer: Shane Griffith

Description: This is a steampunk trident lancher I made for my caption Nemo costume. The main unit is made out of wood which I stained and I ran lights LEDs into it. the four tubes are old packaging tubes that I then painted, the tridents are plastic from a Halloween costume store that I repainted to make look different. there's also a net launcher on one tube. I place CO2 cartridges on all four tubes and i painted them to look more like they belonged. I used PVC pipe and painted it copper. The whole thing sits on a tripod that makes it great to display and move.
