Andrew began his musical career in preschool, taking piano lessons once a week. Several years ago, he became more passionate about the instrument and now avidly takes lessons and competes in recitals. As of now, he is currently enrolled in his eleventh year of piano. In school, Andrew began playing alto saxophone in 4th grade at Green Valley Elementary School, continuing through 6th grade, where he switched to his primary instrument—piano—in the Los Cerros Middle School jazz band.
Upon entering high school, Andrew began participating in the Monte Vista Wind Ensemble as a member of percussion. With the help of his supportive section and peers, he has become proficient in playing the many instruments of percussion—something he was unfamiliar with going into 9th grade. He has been a camper and a counselor for Camp Allegro before, and decided to interview to be a director. This will be Andrew's third year as a director for Camp Allegro and he is beyond excited to continue his involvement with the program!
Outside of music, Andrew competes in mens club and high school volleyball. He loves hanging out with friends and family, and his dog! He also enjoys composing and arranging music during his free time.
Andrew will graduate in the class of 2020.
