CREATING A DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL VESSEL

Ready to make your DTV?
Fantastic!

The DnD theme isn't just for fun, it dictates how your DTV will interact with the world. You, as the creator, will fill out the DTV sheet below as if you were creating a DnD character. We run on a homebrew system based off of 5e. The links below will help you in this creation process.

Q: What is the purpose of a DnD character in the company?

A: In the Beacon Company, we call them dimensional travel vessels (DTV)! They are a different form for your dimensional traveler to transform into, granting them physical access to dimensions that are not their own. They act as a bulletproof vest to ensure that the traveler does not die on the job.

Q: If my traveler dies in their DTV, what happens?

Q: Does my Mirstone Resident (MR) design their own DTV?

A: Yes! Our resident BureauCAT, Church, will be there to help every step of the way to inform your MR on how a DTV works and help with the designing process. DTVs are created on a DnD character sheet. Then, Church takes it to a magical binder in the Beacon room and that’s what makes it official. The traveler will have the ability to customize it however they want. The customization ranges from name, gender, species/race, age, powers, and more!

  • NOTE: It is also possible for your traveler's DTV to be inherited by previous Beacon travelers (say, maybe it's a family heirloom). Your traveler will take on the appearance and abilities of the DTV but the level/EXP. Level/EXP is associated with the person, not the DTV, so it will return to Level 1 with 0 EXP. The traveler that inherited the DTV will have the ability to re-allocate their stat points but all proficiency bonuses are lost due to the reset of EXP.

Q: What species can my character(s) be?

A: For your DTV, they may be whichever species you'd like! They can be an official DnD species, PokΓ©mon species, Final Fantasy XIV species, (almost) anything! The only requirement is that they must be able to perform basic human tasks such as handling objects, opening doors, and the likes. You are able to find workarounds of a character's physique so that they can perform these tasks.

If you feel like your idea is obscure and check if it's allowed, always feel free to visit the #help channel in our Discord server!

Q: If my character's DTV experiences physical trauma, will it leave a scar?

A: Yes, if you’d like them to - it’s free of charge! Story-wise, these changes will reflect onto the DTV's DND papers, making them permanent. Notably, any injuries sustained on a DTV will not follow your human to the real world. Their fatigue will follow, though.

If you want to know what's allowed, ask in the #help channel of our Discord server! Also, please notify us when you are making these changes in case it needs to be reflected on the Database!

Like a D&D Character, your DTV will have a class. Our group currently supports all of the 5e classes, as well as custom or homebrewed classes.

DTVs will have a states that you can fill out. Stats are straight from DnD, and function the same way.

All DTVs are capable of magic. We allow you, the creator, to make your own spells or edit 5e ones. DTVs may also have feats or traits that effect how they may roll. Info on this can be found in the first part of the page.

Weapon info can also be found under equipment. Click the header to find out more.

When going through all of these missions and campaigns, your DTV is going to improve. Click the header to see how leveling works!

SOMETHING TO NOTE WHEN YOU UPDATE PAPERS:
If you are updating a DTV's written application(s), we require you to tell us of the specific changes made in the #help channel of the Discord server. Thank you!
