MIRSTONE

CafΓ© Phantasia finds home in a recreational historic town called Mirstone. Due to the creation of Cry's portal, it created a pocket of magic in the area which grants minor amounts of magic such as the creation of basic elixirs and potions, imbued powers in crafted items, and the likes. While magic is capable of mutating people into bird-folk or werewolves and introduce fae or nymphs, the magic in Mirstone isn't strong enough to morph the inhabitants, leaving them with a human appearance.

A thing to note is that the citizens of Mirstone are unique in a way. Long after the establishment of CafΓ© Phantasia and the Beacon Company, they rescued displaced individuals of destroyed dimensions and populated Mirstone with refugees of these dimensions. Other individuals were granted permission to travel into this world to offer their crafts to help the Beacon travelers in their efforts against Nat's plans.

Overall, Mirstone is a place populated with people affiliated with the Beacon Company in some way.

Q: Why is it predominantly human in Mirstone?

A: While Mirstone has never been one to shy away from the more magical side of things, and much of the current townsfolk know it's a little quirky, we don't want the world to turn its eyes onto the town when reports of actual dragons or werewolves roll in. Because while it's great for tourism, it's not the best for keeping The Beacon Company on the (relative) down low and keeping the town a quiet, peaceful place for families to live.

Sure, people have spread rumors and "proof" about how Mirstone is ~magic~, and the town plays along like Mount Pleasant and their mothman memorabilia, but the only people buying into these claims are other niche paranormal groups, not the media or regular people.

For those that are in the know, those that are not human or human-presenting must be given a glamour (illusion of a human form) by Cry.

THE CLASHING GODS

Nat and Cry were once young gods united in marriage.

Nat was the god of unity, wanting nothing but peace and comfort for all of their people. Cry was the god of individuality, encouraging open-mindedness and freedom of the creative mind. One would assume that with these two gods' interests, they would have created an ideal world together.

And that's what they thought, too.

Nat had their own plans, planned long before they ever got engaged with Cry. With several billions of dimensions spanning through time and space, Nat wanted to gather every living, breathing thing so that they could live under their care. It was altruistic in a sense, wanting to protect every living entity so that they could live a life of comfort... a life free from pain and misery.

The only fault in their plan was that they never took each individual's situation. They never considered if the individual was living their dream, surrounded by friends, families, nature, the such. While under their care, Nat wanted to treat everyone equally with the same amount of love: same houses, same treatment, same food, same living conditions... It was basically a prison claimed to be a utopia. Nat never considered the fact that they were displacing families from their homes, places that carried meaning and memories for them. Nat also destroyed dimensions after they took the inhabitants. Anyone that went against Nat's "good-intentioned" plan was destined for death, because if they couldn't live in the so-called comfort of Nat's care, then they can live in the comfort of not existing at all because "At least they are free of the pain and misery their future could have held."

Of course, being a god of individuality, Cry couldn't follow with Nat's plans. They tried to stop Nat, but the god of unity was too infatuated with their dream to take Cry's opinion into account. As a result, Cry decided to be the one to take a stand against Nat. As a result, they erupted portals in different dimensions in search of people suitable to join their efforts against Nat.

Eventually, Cry came into contact with Agniya family. Their portal accidentally spawned right in the middle of their cafΓ©, but the family was more than willing to join in the efforts. Together, they established the Beacon Company to create a band of people that will be a beacon of hope.

And now that's where you come into our story.

THE TWO SIDES

THE BEACON COMPANY
Leader: Cry

The name comes from being a Beacon of Hope for the people being affected by Nat's plans. Teaming up with CafΓ© Phantasia, they want to help as many people possible and rescue different dimensions. Most of the travelers jokingly call Cry the "Dungeon" Master since they lead the organization.

THE U.N.I.O.N.
Leader: Nat

It stands for the Unified Navigators in One Nation. Nat and their followers are trying to build a new world where everyone lives in unity with strong equality, but it lacks individuality and harmony.
