The SAMR Model is a framework for evaluating how technology enhances or transforms traditional instruction. It's helpful for me to keep in mind that the more transformational uses of technology tend to engage learners' higher order thinking skills.
After completing these lessons, you will have an understanding of the SAMR model, and be able to identify whether classroom uses of technology constitute a substitution, augmentation, modification, or redefinition. You will also be able to take a lesson that you've taught traditionally, and re-imagine how technology can enhance learning outcomes by progressing on the SAMR scale.
