Participants will understand the benefits of digital formative assessment tools, and implement one of these tools with their students.
There are many digital tools that have earned FCPS's seal of approval for use by teachers and students. These digital tools can increase student engagement, teacher efficiency, and ultimately, make instruction more effective.
One of the benefits of digital quiz tools is that students receive immediate feedback. When creating quizzes or lessons with EdPuzzle, Socrative, and WizerMe, the teacher can embed corrections in which students immediately know if they answered a question correctly, and these tools can even offer prompts to prod children in the right direction.
Additionally, the data yielded by these tools provides documentation regarding student progress. Teachers can extract reports to see who has completed the lessons, and analyze performance, thus informing better instruction.
We're going to focus on a couple of my favorite tools, EdPuzzle and Socrative. You will choose one of these tools, implement it in your classroom, then reflect on how it supported student learning.
You will choose ONE of these tools to explore in more detail, either EdPuzzle, Socrative, OR WizerMe. Click on the tool you''re most interested in learning about, and complete all the activities on that page.
