VERONA RD. SIDEWALK PROJECT

PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSIONS

MAY 6TH, 2024

The Town of Hanover has funded the construction of a sidewalk on Verona Rd. The Hanover Bike Walk Committee and the Planning Office are hosting a site visit and poster session to inform the neighborhood and the community about this project and provide you with an opportunity to provide feedback.

SITE VISIT - MAY 6th 10 AM, at the intersection of Verona Road and East Wheelock

POSTER SESSION - 4:00 PM TO 5:30 PM, in the Town Hall meeting room

Those unable to make the site visit can view the proposed layout at any time. The proposal is to have a sidewalk on the east side of Verona Road until the intersection with Highland Avenue. A new crosswalk will be installed at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Verona Road.  The proposed sidewalk will then move to the west side of Verona Road and end at the entrance of the Willow Springs condominiums. 

The east side layout is marked with  pink paint representing the back edge of a 5-foot sidewalk and a curb at the existing edge of this street.

The west side layout is marked by pink paint representing the street edge of an at-grade 5-foot sidewalk, set back approximately 5 feet from the street, providing a buffer between the street and the sidewalk.  

As always, in neighborhoods where people would like to enjoy their streets walking or rolling, it is important for community building to foster an environment where active transportation and community thrives.
