SUCCESS! The Hanover Selectboard held a public hearing June 20, 2022 and unanimously voted to adopt the HBW proposed 25 mph Unless Otherwise Posted speed limit within the urban compact. Signs are posted at entrances to the urban compact.

Lowering Speed Limits, Even Just a Little, Means Less Speeding and Safer Streets. Lowering speed limits has been shown to be a critical step in designing a sustainable future, and producing measurable improvements in safety and livability.

Safe speed limits allow for more engineering solutions that are not available at higher speed limits.
