SUCCESS! December, 2023 the speed on Lyme Road between the Reservoir Roundabout and Kendal Roundabout was lowered to 25 MPH, to match the town's prima facie speed limit.
Lyme Road was designed in the 1950s, and since then the road has seen many changes, including the addition of the Richmond Middle School (RMS). For the safety of our students and all road users, Hanover Bike Walk joined the RMS principal in recommending consistent and lower posted speed limits of no more than 25 mph. We strongly recommended the town adopt a 25 mph posted speed limit between the roundabouts due to the number of conflict points and volume of vulnerable road users.
